Meatball Subs

An easy, family-friendly meatball sub recipe made with fresh meatballs, marinara, mozzarella, and Italian spices, all baked to melted perfection and served warm!

Mix together the ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, oregano, basil, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Roll the mixture into balls.

Brown the meatballs on all sides and drain the grease. Add the marinara sauce and simmer.

Meanwhile, split, butter, and toast the sub rolls under the broiler.

Assemble the sandwiches and broil. Optionally sprinkle with Parmesan and chopped parsley, then serve.

I had a bunch of meatballs in the freezer, and didn’t want to serve spaghetti and meatballs to my family again. I came across this recipe which inspired me to try making meatball subs. Wow, a total hit! My 11 year old said that the recipe is a for sure keeper. Thanks for the inspo!
