This delicious and fun party worthy Cannoli Dip tastes like the best part of a cannoli in a creamy dip form. It is made in less than ten minutes with just a few simple ingredients. We serve it with vanilla wafers, broken waffle cones, pizelles, teddy grahams, or pirouette rolled wafers. I love to take this dip to potlucks, family reunions, and any other shindig where people love a good treat.
Life is full of little sweet surprises like this one. This quick and easy dip is a friend and family favorite and is perfect for those times when you need something delicious fast. Are you always in a hurry? Simply prepare it up to two days in advance and store in an airtight container in the fridge. It is delicious, quick and dependable. What more could you ask for?
How do you make Cannoli Dip?
Start by using a stand mixer or hand mixer to beat the cream cheese and ricotta until it is smooth and lump free. Then turn the mixer to medium and add the powdered sugar about 1/4 cup at a time. Beat that until it is well combined. Now turn the mixer to low and add the almond extract and lemon zest. Finally turn off the mixer and using a spatula fold in the chocolate chips. If not serving right away cover and refrigerate.
Recipe notes and tips for Cannoli Dip
- If you like ricotta cheese than you will more than likely love this dip. However if you don’t like the texture of ricotta than this dip is probably not for you.
- Use only whole milk Ricotta Cheese for this recipe. The lower milk fat ricotta cheeses are not thick enough and the dip will be too soupy.
- You can substitute a little orange zest, nutmeg or cinnamon in place of the lemon zest. They are each delicious albeit slightly different.
- For a change of pace use vanilla extract in place of the almond extract.
- Don’t add anymore almond extract without tasting first. A little almond extract goes a long long way.
- Cover and refrigerate the dip if not serving right away. Store leftovers in airtight container in the fridge.

If you like ricotta cheese than you will more than likely love this dip. However if you don’t like the texture of ricotta than this dip is probably not for you. The preceding sentence uses the word THAN when it should be THEN.
