Breakfast is mine and hubby’s favorite meal of the day. We just love to fix something special for our weekend family breakfasts. This recipe, Banana Pancakes, Easy Crepes, and King’s Hawaiian French Toast are just a few of our favorites.
How to make French Toast Sticks
Start by trimming the crusts off the bread and cutting them into sticks. Then simply whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Now on a shallow plate combine the sugar and ground cinnamon.
Melt a little butter and heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dip the sticks in the egg batter letting the excess drip off. Then add them to the skillet in a single layer with space between them. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and using tongs roll them in the cinnamon sugar.
Recipe notes and helpful tips

- A combination of vegetable oil and butter works best for browning.
- When frying work in batches leaving space between the sticks
- The sticks should be warm when rolled in the cinnamon sugar so it sticks to them.

What bread is best for French Toast Sticks
The bread should be sliced fairly thick and for best results it should be stale. Dip into the egg mixture instead of soaking for sticks that aren’t soggy.
