This tasty baked Jalapeño Popper Dip combines green onions, crisp bacon, and fresh jalapeños in a cheddar and cream cheese base, all topped with a buttery parmesan breadcrumb mixture. It is always a huge party and gameday hit. You will want to make this fun dip over and over again.
Tasty Jalapeno Popper Dip
This flavor-packed dip is always a huge hit at parties. Serve it with crostini, crackers, tortilla chips, pita chips, or bagel chips. Or go the veggie route and serve with celery, bell peppers, cucumbers, or baby bell peppers. I love to serve this dip at my parties with pizza-stuffed crescent rolls, bacon-wrapped smokies, and sausage-stuffed mushrooms.
How to make Jalapeno Popper Dip
Mix the dip ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, jalapenos, half the green onions, half the bacon, and 2 cups of cheddar cheese. Stir to combine and spoon the cream cheese mixture into a baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese.
Mix the topping ingredients
In a small microwaveable bowl or Pyrex measuring cup, melt the butter. Then add the breadcrumbs and Parmesan Cheese. Sprinkle over the dip evenly. Top with the remaining green onions and bacon.
Bake
Place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the breadcrumbs are lightly browned, and the edges start to bubble.
Recipe Tips
- Use full-fat cream cheese, not light or low fat, as it does not melt as well.
- Serve with crackers, crostini, tortilla chips, corn chips, bagel chips, celery, bell peppers, carrots, pita chips, or wonton chips.
- You can substitute a 4-ounce can of diced jalapenos for fresh jalapenos. Just drain them well.
- Try this delicious dip with other shredded cheese like Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, mozzarella, or Asadero Cheese.
- For an over-the-top flavor, try using roasted jalapenos. For a super mild flavor, use Pickled Jalapenos.
- Always wear gloves when working with jalapenos, and avoid touching any part of your face.
Storage and Reheat
Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave at reduced power. I do not recommend freezing this dip.
How to Roast Jalapenos
Start by removing the stems. Then slice them in half and remove the seeds and veins. Then arrange them on a baking sheet covered with foil cut side down. Place them about 4 inches from the broiler and cook them for about 3-4 minutes or until their skins are black and blistered. Then toss them into a paper bag and seal them shut. Let them steam for about 15 minutes. Now remove the jalapenos from the bag and peel those tough blistered skins right off. Always wear gloves when working with jalapenos, and avoid touching your eyes.

This was the perfect dish to bring to my in-laws last weekend when we were watching football. My husband wanted to try it, but I won’t eat most of what’s in there so we made it to take there. It was gone by the end of the game!
