Sometimes, we miss the fair with its fun activities and delicious foods. We love the funnel cakes, walking tacos, snow cones, chili dogs, toasted ravioli, and these fried corn dogs.
You can make these goodies right in the confines of your kitchen in just a few easy steps. You can have these in your hot little hands in about twenty minutes. What do you like to put on your corndogs? I love just plain yellow mustard. It’s so darn delicious!

How to make Mini Corn Dogs
Start by cutting your hot dogs in half. Next, dry the hot dogs well with paper towels. Thread the hot dog onto a popsicle stick or lollipop stick. Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add the egg and buttermilk and stir to combine. Pour the batter into a measuring cup or glass for ease in dipping the dogs. Let the mixture sit for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a Dutch oven or heavy skillet to 375 degrees. I use a candy thermometer hooked to the side of the Dutch oven to try to stay at the temperature. Fully dip each hotdog into the batter and turn to coat. Then, carefully put it right in the hot oil. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Work in small batches and cook a few at a time. For best taste results, serve promptly.
