This easy and flavorful ranch potatoes recipe is a crowd-pleasing side dish. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and loaded with tangy ranch flavor, it’s the perfect addition to any meal.
With just five easy ingredients and minimal prep time these are a regular side dish for us. I love to serve them with pork steaks, New York strip steak, and oven-baked brisket.
Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
- Potatoes: I use Baby Yukon gold potatoes for this recipe. But you can also use baby reds or regular-size Yukon Golds, reds, or Russet potatoes. Just cut them into one-inch chunks.
- Oil: I think olive oil is the best, but you can use vegetable or safflower oil.
- Ranch seasoning packet: Found in the dressing aisle at most grocery stores.
- Parmesan: Freshly grated from the block is best.
- Fresh herbs: Dill, chives, or parsley.
How to Make Ranch Potatoes
Mix the potatoes, olive oil, ranch seasoning, and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl.
Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a parchment paper covered baking sheet. Bake until golden brown and tender. Sprinkle with fresh herbs.
Preparation Tips
- Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Leave some space on the baking sheet for the hot air to get between the potato chunks and crisp them.
- Use fresh Parmesan Cheese and press it onto the potatoes.
- For best results, serve promptly.
Storage and Reheat
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave at reduced power so as not to overcook them.
