Bacon wrapped smokies are the perfect bite-size appetizer for game day and holiday parties. Slightly sweet and delicious, they will please any crowd!

Ingredients
112-ouncepackage lil smokiespork, beef, chicken, or turkey
1lbbacon
½cupbrown sugar
¾cupspicy BBQ sauceGates Original Classic works well
2tablespoonsDijon mustard
1tablespoonhoney
Instructions
Cut each slice of bacon into thirds, wrap each piece around lil smokie, and secure it with a toothpick.
Transfer to a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil for easy clean-up. Sprinkle them with brown sugar and place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown, turning halfway through the cooking process.
Mix the BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, and honey together and serve with the weenies.
Notes
For ease in cleaning your baking pan, cover it with aluminum foil.
They do not have to sit in the brown sugar for more than a couple of hours, but the longer they sit in it, the sweeter the bacon gets. Refrigerate them while they are sitting in the brown sugar.
To add zest and zing, sprinkle them with a bit of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes before baking.
If planning for a crowd, make a double batch, as they go fast!
