Ingredients
¼cupgranulated sugar
2teaspoonsground cinnamo
8ouncetube refrigerated crescent rolls
vegetable oil or canola oil
butter
syrup
Instructions
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow, wide bowl. Preheat the waffle iron and brush the plates with oil if needed.
Open the tube and unroll the crescent roll dough. Separate the dough into eight triangles. Starting with the wide end roll towards the narrow end or the pointed end. Repeat until they are all rolled.
Roll the crescent rolls through the cinnamon sugar.
Place one or two of the sugared crescent rolls on your waffle iron (depending on its size) and close the lid. Cook for 1 1/2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Carefully remove the croffles from the waffle iron. Plate and top with soft butter and warm maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
For best results, brush the waffle iron with vegetable oil or canola oil. It will help with cleanup.
Cook for 1 1/2-3 minutes or just until golden brown, so keep a close eye on them until you establish a cooking time.
Once cooled, store the croffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the toaster or the microwave for short increments (15 seconds) until warm.
